Career by Design is a career reflection tool written by Alok Tayal, the author of Career by Design, Not by Chance. This is a prototype tested with a small group of people.

Your email address, so you can sign in with a link and come back to your reports.
Your answers: role, years, aspiration, the Drift Check, the stage diagnostic and the Career Mirror questions, and the reports built from them.
Your confirmation that you are 18 or over.
Simple usage events, such as which step you reached, linked to a random identifier and, once you sign in, to your account. We use no third-party trackers or advertising cookies. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in.
We do not ask for your employer, your CV or your contacts.

To build and save your reports, to send you the sign-in link and, if you commit to a move, one check-in email.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with employers.

Your data is stored with Supabase in Mumbai, India. Emails are sent through Resend. The app is hosted by Vercel.
Your answers are never sent to a language model. When rewording is switched on, only the approved sentences and your role's vocabulary are sent.

We keep your data while you have an account. A sign-in draft that is never used expires after seven days.

You can export everything we hold about you as a file, and delete your account and all of your data, from your account page. Deleting removes your reports, answers, usage events and saved files.
